Libido (aka sex drive) is a person’s overall sexual drive or desire for sexual activity. Libido is influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors.

We all wish to be in a right mood for loving and being loved. Of course, we want to feel that ‘spark’ when it comes to romance. But, why do some people often just not feel the same? Studies have revealed that your diet plays a very crucial role in enhancing your libido. We came across these 5 foods that can have negative impact on your sex drive.

1. Fried foods

Fried foods generally are dangerous for a healthy and fit life. But they also play a big role in decreasing the sex drive in us. The presence of fat in the fried foods results in an abnormal production of sperm in men. It also intrudes with the gestation phase in women. Thus, it plays a severe role in diminishing the sexual desire in individuals, for that good sex drive/ Libido.

2. Alcohol

UK has the highest consumption of alcohol. Excessive drinking of alcohol results in erectile dysfunction in men. I’m assuming most people must have experienced drunk sex, which is about a thousand times harder to achieve orgasm, affecting our sex drive. But, it should be in moderation. Else, too much consumption of alcohol absolutely ruins everything, not just sex.

3. Cornflakes

Yep, that’s right… Cornflakes form a substantial amount of breakfast in almost every household. But, did you know that it blunts the sexual urge tremendously. It is advised not to consume cornflakes prior to sexual activities. Also, you may add some amount of honey or cinnamon or any naturally occurring aphrodisiacs to spice up the sex drive (Libido) and improve the production of the sexual hormones.

4. Chocolate

Some of you maybe suprised, some may not. Well, it’s true. Chocolates have methylxantines. These chemicals act as a natural chemicals for lowering the sexual drive making one sleepy and lethargic, therefore affecting your sex drive. May make you rethink sending your partner a delicious box of chocolates… lol.

5. Licorice

Candies contain a significant amount of licorice in them. Licorice has glycyrrhizic acid as one of its essential compounds. Studies have revealed that the production of testosterone hormone in an individual is significantly reduced by almost 35 percent due to the intake of licorice. Reducing your sex drive.

Thus, if you’re willing to maintain the sexual urge and desire, getting rid of these foods is extremely crucial. Excluding these dampners from your diet will warm up your body, enhance your libido and improve your sex life.
